You might want to consider your different options for dealing with the debt- some options include debt consolidation, negotiating with the creditors, and filing for bankruptcy. You can learn more here if you want :) https://upsolve.org/learn/debt-consolidation-vs-bankruptcy/

After you file they can't call you anymore. I decided to file bankruptcy because they were calling so many times every day and I still couldn't pay them

Hello Laura, This is a good question. You can file more than one bankruptcy in a lifetime. How many times depends on how long it's been since your last bankruptcy case and what type of bankruptcy you filed. Here is an Upsolve article on this topic. https://upsolve.org/learn/how-often-can-you-file-bankruptcy/

Generally, no! It's possible to file more than once- Erin shared a great article about how often you can file

Generally speaking, if you previously filed Chapter 7 and want to file Chapter 7 again- it's 8 years from the day you originally filed

Upsolve is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that started in 2016. Our mission is to help low-income families who cannot afford lawyers file bankruptcy for free, using an online web app. Spun out of Harvard Law School, our team includes lawyers, engineers, and judges. We have world-class funders that include the U.S. government, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and leading foundations. It's one of the greatest civil rights injustices of our time that low-income families can’t access their basic rights when they can’t afford to pay for help. Combining direct services and advocacy, we’re fighting this injustice.
