Our work is supported by leading funders, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Robin Hood Foundation, OpenAI Philanthropy, and the Legal Services Corporation.

Position Overview

Upsolve is seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven advocate to play a critical role in supporting individuals navigating the bankruptcy process through our flagship filing tool. In this role, you will serve as a trusted guide to users—answering questions, resolving obstacles, and ensuring they are well-positioned to achieve a financial fresh start.

You will also work closely with Upsolve’s Chief Product Officer to refine our internal systems, elevate user insights, and help shape the next generation of Upsolve’s product.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of legal innovation and access to justice, within a small, high-performing team where your contributions will have an outsized and tangible impact on thousands of families nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert, empathetic support to users navigating bankruptcy and using Upsolve’s software.

  • Assist users in updating their forms and addressing complexities in their cases.

  • Review cases for completeness and alignment with Upsolve’s quality standards.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer to surface insights that drive product and workflow improvements.

Qualifications

  • (Required) A demonstrated commitment to serving low-income communities or a personal connection to Upsolve’s mission.

  • (Required) Experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or other client-facing legal role.

  • Exceptional writing and analytical abilities, with a talent for explaining complex legal concepts clearly.

  • Outstanding empathy, judgment, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in bankruptcy law is a plus.

Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year
