1. Free Services

Our services are always 100% free. Debt solutions should lift you up, not burden you with more expenses.

Our only goal is your financial well-being. Because we’re a nonprofit, our goal is to help you, not make money. We will never suggest you use a tool that’s not in your best interest.

Here is how:

2. Safety First

Safety means reducing the risk of misinformation and harmful financial decisions. Our AI tools help you understand potential risks and trade-offs to make confident, informed decisions.

There are many confusing and exploitative debt relief options. Our tools will help you understand the trade-offs of any action you take.

We prioritize giving you peace of mind by putting you in control. We only make AI tools that present information so you can make your own informed decisions. Our AI models will never make decisions for you.

Here is how:

  • Upsolve constantly updates our tools with improved interfaces, easier-to-understand information, and risk mitigation.

  • Our AI models get their knowledge about debt from Upsolve’s professionally written and vetted content, all of which is available for free to the public on Upsolve.org. It does this through a process called Retrieval-Automated Generation (RAG). This approach reduces errors and promotes safe, accurate guidance.

UpSolve was a Godsend! It didn't even take 2 weeks for my case to be approved. I had to go in "several" times to make revisions. Do not try and do this by yourself. They provide you with all of the information.

3. Total Transparency

As a nonprofit, we are here to serve you. You deserve to know how we work at every step of the way.

1. Transparent Funding

Getting out of debt should not come with additional high costs. That is why we are supported by donors and grant-makers who ensure our services are completely free to you. We believe financial health should be accessible to everyone, without any extra costs.

The rest of our funding comes from connecting users to free consultations with partner organizations that provide one-on-one help we can not offer (e.g., local bankruptcy lawyers). We carefully vet these partners to ensure we trust them to help you. We will never push their advertisements onto you or encourage a paid service when our free services can help.

2. Transparent Tech

You deserve to know when you are dealing with AI. We will always mark AI-generated content clearly so you know you’re not talking to a human.

Whenever you receive personalized information from AI, the AI will provide its sources and explain exactly how it came to that conclusion so you can vet it yourself.

4. Human Oversight and Support

Our team is here to guide the process and support you.

We continuously update our tools to reflect changes in laws and financial practices. Our team diligently reviews all software-generated documents to ensure accuracy.

Here is how:

  • Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: Our team aims to review bankruptcy applications for technical errors within 14 days and promptly responds to emails or messages about the tool.

  • User Feedback: You can send error reports to our User Advocacy team whenever you have an issue with our AI model and the team will work to resolve the issue.

  • Human-In-The-Loop: Humans write the knowledge articles and models that fuel our AI tools.

  • Connections: If our tools can't help or you would prefer one-on-one support, Upsolve will connect you to a vetted and trusted debt counselor or local bankruptcy attorney.

5. Privacy

Your data is yours — you have the right to know exactly how your data is used and what that means for your privacy.

Upsolve never profits from your data. We will only share your data with your express permission, and we will do it securely. You always have the option to request deletion of your data from Upsolve.

We will not partner with companies that sell user data.

We will only use software that is safe and secure.
